AAFilmLab ‘Connections’: Wine & Cheese Networking Event Fri., May 27th

Introducing ‘AAFilmLab Connections’ and Activities Coordinator, Jennifer Betit Yen

To assist us as we expand to include more networking opportunities and forge connections throughout the entertainment community, we are excited to introduce ‘AAFilmLab Connections’ and Activities Coordinator, Jennifer Betit Yen.

Under the umbrella of ‘AAFilmLab Connections’ Jennifer will be coordinating activities within the AAFilmLab community, facilitating closer knit connections and networking opportunities, outside of our other programs, and fostering broader support, presence, and sense of community to the rest of NYC’s extended community of filmmakers, actors, writers, and organizations.

We will kick off ‘AAFilmLab Connections’ with a wine and cheese networking opportunity.

WHEN: Friday, May 27th, 8-11pm in Midtown West.

WHAT TO BRING:
1. a bottle of wine OR your favorite cheese and cracker/fruit and veggie combo to share; and
2. an industry friend (a fellow actor/writer/director/etc) who would like to meet and mingle.

**Not mandatory to bring anything, however, highly encouraged**

Independent Film Week - Call for Entries – Deadlines Approaching!

Independent Film Week is the oldest and largest forum in the U.S. for the discovery of new projects in development and new voices on the independent film scene. The Project Forum is a meetings-driven forum connecting filmmakers who have new narrative and documentary projects with key industry executives interested in identifying projects with which to become involved at the financing or distribution stage.

Now accepting applications for all three sections: Emerging Narrative (for U.S. writers and writer/directors seeking producers and agents to develop, produce, represent and finance their scripts), No Borders (for U.S. and international producers with partial financing on new narrative projects seeking additional partners), Spotlight on Documentaries (for U.S. filmmakers with projects in production or post-production seeking financing partners, broadcast/distribution opportunities, and festival invitations).

‘A Rainy Day for Earthworms’ - An indie film by Gary Mei

My name is Eileen Ann, and I’m the producer of “A Rainy Day for Earthworms,” by director Gary Mei. Set in Chinatown, Earthworms is an independent film that follows the perspective of a first-generation Chinese-American child after a tragedy shakes his community. My friends have been working on this film since last May, and we’re almost finished with production.
