Donna Tsufura

Donna Tsufura was a founding member of The Workshop: Asian American Filmmakers Collaborative which produced the groundbreaking short film anthology, “Avenue of the Asian Americas.”  She has been a programmer for the Asian American International Film Festival, and has worked at the Sundance Institute Filmmaker Labs and Theatre Labs. As a filmmaker, she is currently developing a feature film.  She is also a produced playwright, and a photography editor who has been on staff for Sports Illustrated and freelanced for many prominent national magazines. Donna has been a longtime advocate of Asian American media makers taking action to empower themselves and gain recognition by the entertainment industry.  From that commitment, an idea she proposed two years ago ultimately became the 64 Hour Film Shootout.  It is fulfilling its intention, going nationwide this year as the 72 Hour Film Shootout with MTV World sponsorship.  She confident that an international competition will exist in the near future, and that the Shootout will impact in some way the landscape of American and global entertainment media.
