“Mr. A” Columbia University Graduate Thesis Film

ASIAN-AMERICAN and CAUCASIAN ACTORS wanted for an early November, super16mm shoot.

Logline for “Mr. A”: Kenny, an Asian American teen, develops a crush on his favorite math teacher, Mr. A, after discovering he’s the teacher’s “type” through an online personal ad. When his feelings are not returned, Kenny and his girlfriend commit a vengeful prank bent on humiliating Mr. A.

Character breakdown for “Mr. A”:

-Kenny (mid to late teens), Asian-American, a
brooding, working class teen who sticks
out in his predominantly white suburban high school.
An introverted non-conformist.

-Yvette (mid to late teens), Caucasian, Kenny’s
headstrong girlfriend. She has an
instinctual anger towards authority. 

-Mr. A (30’s-40’s), Caucasian, a competent, yet
socially awkward math teacher. An underdog known for
his un-orthodox teaching style.

-Linda (40’s) Asian-American, Kenny’s mother, an
over-worked single mom.

***Actors age 25 and under encouraged to apply for
KENNY and YVETTE if you look age appropriate.***

No pay, but meals, transportation, credit, and copy will be provided.
