CASTING NOTICE: Short Film

TORTILLA PUDDING, a comedy/drama with an Award-Winning Writer/Director/Producer and Cinematographer (both with MFAs from the film school at New York University and film festival experience), starring actress Francine Wong as Sylvia and 3 other actors yet to be cast (and featuring an authentic Hispanic jam/street band), shooting on Tapeless HD (most likely with the SONY PDW-5350L or Panasonic HPX2000 camera system) in March, 2009.

The story centers around a first generation Asian-American woman in her early 30s who helps her parents run a very affordable "Tex/Mex" restaurant in New York City that mostly uses Chinese ingredients in its dishes (think along the lines of Fresco Tortillas in NYC), not because she is personally fulfilled by this life choice, but out of a sense of duty, guilt and love for her parents more than anything else, who has an encounter/experience with a younger man who lives his life in a lot less conventional way that challenges her in a real way to start thinking about changing her own life.

We are still looking to cast the following roles:

LIAN: Female, mid 45+, Asian; immigrant to the United States, mother of lead character, Sylvia; sweet, nurturing and often comedic without realizing she is being funny; ability to speak Mandarin a plus.

YUNG: Male, mid 45+, Asian; immigrant to the United States, father to the lead character, Sylvia; very hard working and practical with a genuine dedication to his family; ability to speak Mandarin a plus.
